The Titan Band Boosters raise funds during the year for the band programs, and provide countless hours of labor support. Without the Band Boosters, the cost to participate in marching band would likely be prohibitive for most. As statewide budget issues increase, the Titan Band Boosters is becoming more important to the students and parents every year.

Mattress Fundraiser (November 2017)
In 2005, Custom Fundraising Solutions (CFS) was born out of the idea to help kids raise money with a unique approach that had never been used in the fundraising industry.
The concept, the “Mattress Fundraiser”, quickly gained acceptance in northeastern United States, and grew to be a national fundraising powerhouse. CFS is now over 50 locations strong, spanning the country, and has given back over $14 million dollars back into our communities.
WHY A MATTRESS?
The average family in the US has over 4 mattresses in their homes, each of which have a life-cycle of about 10 years. We know all the beds in a home don’t wear out at the same time, which creates a constant market for new mattresses. We also know that a survey of the population in the United States revealed a startling statistic: 1 IN 10 PEOPLE BUY A MATTRESS EVERY SINGLE YEAR. This means that for a community of 30,000 people, 3,000 are in the market for a mattress right now!

We support the Collins Marching Band, Color Guard, Drumline and all the Concert Bands and Jazz Bands.
Martha Layne Collins High School was established in 2010 to relieve the overcrowding of Shelby County High School on the east side of the county by providing a state of the art facility on the west side of the county.
SCHS prides itself with their music and arts programs and is a well established program. With the addition of MLCHS the band program began with several new instruments and uniforms. The CHS Band Boosters was organized and many of the boosters parents donated money and supplies to begin our grilling at the football games each week. With the generous help of the corrections facility loaning and delivering a grill for each game all money for the first two years was used to support the band programs and purchase our first grills.
During years three and four the band program has grown from 30 students to 70. Our students continue to strive to be the best and have added a Jazz ensemble, indoor drumline and began competing with the KHSAA.
During the fifth year of the organization the boosters purchased a 20 ft trailer to haul equipment to competitions. Our 2015 – 2016 goals are to build out the interior with racks and lockers for uniforms and equipment. The first expenses for the year though will be building the props for the marching season and registration fees for competitions.
These students gain so much being part of the band programs at MLCHS that will help them to grow.
